The
Gospel of Jesus Christ:
We believe that the purpose of the Church is to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ to all
people. The gospel is that Jesus Christ who Himself lived a perfectly obedient
and holy life, died in our stead for our errors in motive, action and life-style. After His death He was buried
and then He was raised from the dead on the third day. After His resurrection He appeared to over five hundred witnesses. Whoever
believes this and confesses Jesus as their Lord shall be saved. It is the mission
of this fellowship to preach this message to our community, the surrounding areas of this community, and to the rest of the
communities of the earth.
The
Word of God:
We
believe that the scripture is the expressed revelation of God given to the peoples of the world as to who He is.
We believe it reveals to us the spiritual condition of all humanity. The scripture also reveals to us God’s plan and
purpose for us in this life, and in the ages to come. Therefore the teaching and preaching of the Word of God, and the gospel
of Jesus Christ is the most important ministry that the church has been given. All other activity and purpose in the Church
is based and founded on educating every person concerning Jesus Christ through the ministry of the Word of God.
Discipleship:
We believe that the primary role of the Church is to make disciples of all people. This is done through the teaching of the Word of God and through our being an example to others through
our own lifestyle. The ultimate goal of every disciple is to be Christ-like,
obeying Him in everything that He has commanded of us, and to duplicate ourselves through teaching others to be disciples.
The
worshipping of God:
We
believe that the obligation of every person is to worship Jesus Christ in spirit and in truth.
True worship comes from an acknowledgement of His being greater than we are in all respects, and our placing Him in
a position of authority over us in all we do. Worship is not dependent upon
musical instruments or vocal excellence, athough music can be an important aid in the worshipping of God. Any activity that
acknowledges our obedience and love for Him is worship.
Creating
community:
We
believe that every member of the Church is a vital part of the whole community of believers.
When we come together we each bring a piece of the spiritual Church as “living stones” to the assembly. The purpose of the Church is for each member to care for every other member of the
fellowship. We can do that through the ministry of our own individual gifting,
prayer, and through the sharing of our resources and ourselves, as we are able.
Empowerment
for ministry:
The
Lord has given each of us gifting and a ministry in the Church. We believe that
every person in this fellowship has a call to be involved in the Great Commission to “make disciples” of all peoples. The Lord assigns each member his or her place in the Church through gifting and callings,
and the Holy Spirit anoints each of us for service. The apostolic leadership
is given to the Church by Jesus and is mandated to train and enable each member to fulfill his or her ministry in the
Church, and to direct the functioning of the local fellowship.
